This PNP program has sought to target experienced entrepreneurs and business managers (an applicant need not necessarily have been a past business owner to qualify) who are seeking to make immediate investments in B.C. by establishing new businesses or investing in existing ones. In all cases, job creation must result from these investments and the entrepreneur applicant must be actively involved in the management of the business.
This program is suitable for persons who do not qualify to immigrate in the economic class because of age or lack of English proficiency, and at the same time you have business experience as well as possess sufficient funds.
The basic requirements of the business immigration stream are as follows:
- The candidate must have Net Worth of at least $600,000 which can be in the form of Cash, Assets in Bank Accounts, Fixed (Term) Deposits, Real property, Investments in bonds, stocks and mutual funds, Investments in one or more businesses, Pensions and other assets. The declared Net Worth must be in the applicant’s name and/or his spouse’s name. The applicant must have title to any real estate holdings and business ownership.
- The BC PNP will assign points for the applicant’s business and/or work experience from the last 10 years. Registrants must demonstrate they have sufficient knowledge and experience to successfully establish the proposed business in B.C.
- The candidate must be able to establish a new business or buy and improve an existing business
- Invest $200,000 or more in the business
- The business must create one new full-time job for a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- The candidate must be actively involved in the management of the business operations, and should physically reside in British Columbia.
BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration program has been broker into two categories:
- Entrepreneur Immigration Category : This category is for senior managers or business owners who intend to invest funds into a proposed business in British Columbia.
- Entrepreneur Immigration — Regional Pilot : This new pilot is for international entrepreneurs looking to establish a new business in a small community in British Columbia.
