The Ontario Province has its own immigration program by the name of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). The easiest way to immigrate to Ontario province is Ontario Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) express entry and a candidate would be eligible to apply for same when they score well according to the Ontario PNP points calculator. In order to fulfill Ontario PNP requirements, a candidate needs to score 400 points in the Ontario PNP. After qualifying in terms of points the candidates would be allotted an Ontario Provincial Nomination Certificate. There are various changes that are made in Ontario immigration, in order to be updated with these changes candidates must follow the Ontario PNP news. Furthermore, in order to submit the documents, a candidate needs to prepare Ontario documents checklist.

Ontario PNP streams
Ontario Immigration under the Canada immigration has various streams under which the Ontario province accepts the applications under the Ontario PNP program.
The following are those streams: –
1) Ontario Express Entry
Express Entry is introduced by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to manage the permanent residency amongst the skilled immigration workers.
To qualify for the express entry system a candidate need to qualify one of the following streams: –
- Federal Skilled Worker Program
- Canadian Experience Class
a) Ontario Express Entry – Human Capital Priorities Stream
Ontario declared a temporary pause on Notifications of Interest (NOIs) sent under the Human Capital Priorities Stream on February 16, 2016.
Ontario Express Entry – Human Capital Priorities Stream allows OINP to nominate eligible applicants having required academic qualification, work experience, language capability, and other skills, so that they can enter the federal Express Entry pool. It helps these candidates establish and function into labour market and communities of Ontario. Candidates see the listed occupations under the Ontario Human Capital Priorities Stream occupation list.
b) Ontario Express Entry – French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream
The Ontario Express Entry: French Speaking Skilled Worker Stream is constructed for French-Speaking skilled workers who have strong English language skills as well and want to reside and work for permanent basis in Ontario. This stream allows OINP to provide the nomination to applicants having required academic qualification, skilled working experience, language capability, and other characteristics in the Express Entry pool and help them in successfully establishing and integrating into Ontario’s labour market and communities.
c) Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream
Ontario Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream is designed for candidates who have work experience in one of the designated skilled works and moreover who want to live and work permanently in the Ontario province. This stream enables to invite those skilled workers who have work experience, language ability, skills trades certification (not required everywhere) and other traits that help them to integrate and settle in the Ontario’s labour market and communities.
d) General Category (Employer Category)
Ontario declared a temporary pause for the intake of visa applications under the Employer Pre-screen application program from May 9, 2016. Although, International skilled applicants having approved job offer by the OINP may submit their application for Provincial Nomination.
Under this stream, employers in Ontario are allowed to employ International skilled workers for required job positions authorized by the Canadian Government and fall under NOC Skill Type O or Skill Level A or B. Selected applicants may be living abroad or in Canada at the time of application.
2) Ontario International Student Category
Ontario declared a temporary pause for the new applications under Masters Graduate and PhD Graduate streams from May 9, 2016. Although, International Student having approved job offer under the Employer Pre-screen application program may submit their application for Provincial Nomination.
Ontario International Student with Job Offer Stream
International Student with Job Offer Stream was designed to allow employers in Ontario to select foreign students for required job positions. It is specifically available for international students having job offers in Ontario.
Ontario International Masters Graduate Stream
International Masters Graduate Stream is designed for candidates who have acquired a Master’s degree from any of Ontario’s publicly funded universities. Under this stream, the job offer is not required.
Ontario International Ph.D. Graduate Stream
International Ph.D. Graduate Stream allows candidates who have acquired a Ph.D. qualification from any of Ontario’s publicly funded universities. Under this stream, the job offer is not required.
